THE COMFORT & SUPPORT YOUR PET NEEDS
The hock splint gives your pet the support they need & keeps your dog or cat’s leg in a normal walking position, allowing them to place weight on their injured limb and allow their paw to move naturally.
HELP YOUR PET’S LEG INJURY HEAL
Designed to fit comfortably and provides joint support for your pet, this hind leg brace immobilizes the joint allowing your pet to heal as they progress through physical therapy and recovery.
PROTECT YOUR PET’S WEAK LIMB
This durable and lightweight splint extends above the hock and down to their ankle to ensure your pet’s lower leg is fully supported and protected.
How to Choose the Right Size
The Walkin’ Hock Splint is designed to support the lower part of the rear leg. It will not stabilize the knee on the rear leg, or the paw. If full lower limb bracing is needed, please see our Walkin’ Rear Splint.
A: Measure from the top of your pet’s paw at the point located on the backside of the leg, to the midpoint between hock and knee.
B: Measure from the top of your pet’s paw at the point located on the backside of the leg to the hock point.
If you have any fitting concerns with your Splint, please contact our Customer Care Team or refer to your Veterinarian.
Begin with measuring your pet while they are in a standing position.
Use measurement B as your main guide for choosing a size. The best fit will be when your pet’s measurement matches with the number shown on the chart. If your pet’s measurement is up to 1” over or about 1/4” under, this is also acceptable.
The next measurement to review is A. It is best for your pet’s Total Length to closely match the number on the chart, but it will still fit if your pet’s length is longer than what is listed.
The Leg Width is an important factor when determining the fit of the hock splint. Please review the chart under the “additional Fitting Measurement” tab for information on the splint’s interior width.
Please Note: The Hock Splint does NOT extend under the paw; if full lower limb bracing is needed, please see our Walkin’ Rear Splint.
If your dog’s measurement falls between sizes, please call us at 1-888-253-0777 and our Customer Service Department will help you to determine the correct size.
Width of the Leg
To determine if the splint’s width will comfortably fit your pet, measure the width of the rear leg at the hock joint. For the most accurate width measurement, we recommend holding a notepad behind your pet’s leg and making a mark on either side of the leg. Once complete, measure the distance between those two marks to determine the width of the leg. If the width listed for your pet’s size is wider than their leg, we recommend adding the custom fit foam.
