Ruck9 Holds a 5K Fundraising Event in Sarasota, FL

SARASOTA, FL (May 11, 2023): Ruck9, a non-profit organization for special needs animals, held a 5K fundraising event this past weekend in Sarasota, FL, to raise money for special needs animals. Walkin’ Pets, a NH-based pet mobility company, flew a team down to attend the Sup & Run event and donate nearly $9K to support Ruck9’s mission.
With the donation and money raised, Ruck9 can now gift many more Walkin’ Wheels wheelchairs to specially-abled pets in need.
Although the Walkin’ Pets team met many inspiring wheelchair recipients from Ruck9, one pup stood out . . .
Meet Tutu – the paralyzed pup available for adoption!
Tutu is a 4-month-old Black Mouth Cur mix puppy rescued by Road Dogg Rescue in Pensacola, FL. Born with a neurological condition, Tutu was left paralyzed from the waist down. The Sup and Run event was the first time Tutu was able to test out her new ride and take her very first steps in her new pink wheels!
Tutu’s foster mom, Lauren Bartz, says, “The wheelchair has been amazing – a huge benefit. It is going to help Tutu learn to walk, and hopefully she will not need her wheelchair one day!”
Lauren also added, “I think people see disabled dogs and think that they are disposable and not worth living. They definitely deserve life, just like any other dog. Tutu would have been euthanized, but now she can go on to live a normal life.”
Tutu received a second chance at life after being gifted her wheelchair to help her become mobile and independent. Help us help her check one last thing off her bucket list – finding her a family that will love and cherish her forever!
