CHARLESTON, SC (October 10, 2022) – Shelby Jasewicz, a Vet Tech student in the class of 2023 at Trident Technical College Veterinary Technology Program, has been awarded the 2022 Walkin’ Pets Vet Tech Scholarship. Walkin’ Pets, a NH-based pet mobility company, annually awards this scholarship to support the next generation of Vet Tech and rehab professionals who will provide compassionate care to animals.
Shelby has been working in veterinary medicine since 2015. While at school, Shelby is also working as a full-time employee at a very busy emergency hospital and is a single mother. Shelby says, “This field has become my passion, and being able to help animals brings me fulfillment every day. Although hard at times, nothing is more gratifying to me than helping animals and providing the best patient care. After I graduate college, I hope to sit for the VTNE and become licensed so I can further my education and continue to provide exemplary veterinary medical care to animals in an emergency setting. I have special interests in wound management, wildlife rehabilitation, and neurologic conditions.”
