MADISON, WI (October 7, 2022) – Amelia Corona, a Veterinary student in the class of 2025 at Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine, has been awarded the 2022 Walkin’ Pets Veterinary Scholarship. Walkin’ Pets, a NH-based pet mobility company, annually awards this scholarship to support the next generation of veterinarians who will provide compassionate care to animals.
Amelia has always known she wanted to become a veterinarian. “I grew up riding horses, which first ignited my passion for veterinary medicine. After working in multiple small animal clinics, I knew I wanted to dive into small animal medicine, specifically surgery. My current aspiration after veterinary school is to complete a small animal surgical residency, but I also have a great interest in specializing in veterinary sport and rehabilitation medicine. As a surgeon, I hope to be heavily involved with the rehabilitation aspect of recovery, giving pets the best chance at a complete recovery, or a smooth transition to a change in lifestyle. Walkin’ Pets gives pets with orthopedic diseases a chance to live comfortably, a chance I hope to give to pets as a surgeon within my career.”
Walkin’ Pets is honored to award the 2022 Veterinary Scholarship to someone as deserving as Amelia Corona.
