What Makes the SureFit® Calculator the Best Choice?

SureFit® Guarantee: we guarantee the perfect size, or we’ll pay your return shipping costs if an exchange is needed. That way there’s no doubt your pet will get the perfect fit.

We highly recommend using our SureFit® Calculator as it ensures the perfect custom fit for your pet. It requires a couple measurements, but only so we can provide your pet with the very best experience.

We recognize this takes a few minutes of your time, but those minutes are worth the happiness your pet will experience once they try out their wheelchair for the first time. Our wheelchairs have already helped more than 81,000 other pets. Let’s make that 81,001!

Other companies simply have you select a wheelchair based on weight, but that often results in a poor fit. Why? A 30 lb bulldog has a very different body type from a 30 lb corgi, but those companies will provide both with the same wheelchair.

From Iran to Massachusetts: Pup Searches for Forever Home

dog wheelchair

CAMBRIDGE, MA (August 11, 2021) – Paralyzed and surrendered by his owner in Iran, Teddy’s survival odds were low. PAWS New England rushed in to help the young Maltese puppy. In the midst of their rescue planning, the CDC announced a new ban effective July 15th would limit their ability to save international rescue dogs and bring them to the US. The PAWS New England rescue team rushed into action, they knew that they needed to act quickly to save Teddy and bring him to Boston before time ran out.

With the dedication of the PAWS New England team, Teddy is one of the last international rescue dogs to make it into the US before the ban went into effect. Once Teddy reach Boston, the rescue was able to uncover the true nature of his medical needs. Quickly learning that Teddy had been abused during his time living in Iran. He had suffered a spinal injury that caused him to lose the use of his back legs. He was nervous and anxious upon arrival due to his lack of a stable and safe home. When Walkin’ Pets, a pet mobility company based out of NH, saw Teddy’s story, they began to follow along and reached out to offer any help that they could provide. Foster mom, Leila, said that Teddy’s transformation into a happy pup began the day he got his wheelchair, “When he got his wheels, he was happier. Teddy doesn’t realize there’s anything different about him, he acts just like any other dog! He deserves to have the same opportunities.”

Teddy’s foster mom Leila and canine foster brother Preston have helped Teddy to adjust to his new life. His medical needs have been addressed, and he has begun to see a neurologist as well as a canine rehabilitation specialist at Boston Animal Hospital PT. With the support of his new Walkin’ Wheels dog wheelchair, Teddy has become a happy and energetic puppy. Teddy’s foster mom says that Teddy loves being active, and he wanted to run! His wheels allow him to move around independently and have fun in the park like any other dog would do. The best news of all is that with hard work and dedication, Teddy’s neurologist and physical therapist think that this sweet boy will likely be able to walk on his own again soon!

Though Teddy has been comfortable and happy in his foster home, he is on the hunt for his forever home and his forever family who will help him reach his ultimate goals—overcoming his anxiety, and relearning to walk. If you are unable to provide a home for Teddy, but would like to donate to his medical needs, you can contribute to PAWS New England directly. Teddy would be thrilled to find an active family who will support and love him. To learn more about Teddy or to submit an application, visit his adoption page.
