AMHERST, NH (September 24, 2021) – Hope Dunbar, DVM Candidate in the Class of 2022 at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine has been awarded the 2021 Walkin’ Pets Veterinary Scholarship. Walkin’ Pets, a NH-based pet mobility company, annually awards this scholarship to support the next generation of veterinarians who will provide compassionate care to animals.
Hope always knew that she wanted to pursue a career in veterinary medicine, and never considered a different path. She grew up riding horses and has always had an array of pets. Going through the trauma of watching her first dog suffer through a misdiagnosis, she aims to be the doctor that her dog needed at that time.
Her clinical experience includes spending time as a veterinary technician at multiple small animal practices, working at an equine hospital in Montana, and caring for baby goats at a zoo. She was also the acting president of a student-run dairy farm during her time earning her undergraduate degree. In her spare time, she enjoys snowboarding, horseback riding, and hiking with her dog and fiancé. Hope aims to enter a private small animal general practice after graduation.
Walkin’ Pets is honored to award the 2021 Veterinary Scholarship to someone as deserving as Hope Dunbar.
