AMHERST, NH (September 10, 2018) – The results are in for the 2019 Walkin’ Pets worldwide calendar contest: 13 winners from around the globe have been selected by popular vote on the Walkin’ Pets Facebook page. The annual contest features pets using Walkin’ Wheels wheelchairs, raising awareness of options for disabled pets with mobility challenges. The 13 winners this year are dogs from 8 countries: Thailand, Brazil, Germany, England, United States, Mexico, Italy, and Wales.

The 13 winning dogs range in age from 1 to 11 and are of all sizes and breeds, including a Dachshund, German Shepherd, Siberian Husky, French Bulldogs, and more. All of the 239 pets who were voted on in the contest will be represented somewhere in the calendar to demonstrate canine resilience and spirit on the roll around the world!

Miranda Gibson, the owner of Bernie, a rescued Samoyed from Massachusetts says, “I’m convinced that Bernie does not know he is ‘handicapped’ and embodies the term handicapable.”

Contest winners were announced through a special video that Walkin’ Pets created to acknowledge the purpose that all pet owners share, with winning contest photos shown at the end. The 2019 Walkin’ Pets Calendar is $9.95 and may be pre-ordered by calling: (888) 253-0777 for an expected delivery date of mid-November. All proceeds from calendar sales go to the Handicapped Pets Foundation which helps pet owners in financial distress with free wheelchairs.

Sean Hooten, the owner of Airlie, a Lab Collie mix from England who had an unsuccessful surgery for IVDD says, “The wheels have enabled him to have an amazing quality of life and we just love watching him flourish and enjoy running around in his wheels.”
