AMHERST, NH (November 8, 2017) – A team of three customer service representatives from Walkin’ Pets by HandicappedPets.com will be participating in the 2017 Walk & Wag for Veterans, Saturday, Nov. 11, 10AM-3PM. This fundraiser benefits a program that matches rescue dogs that it trains with disabled veterans. Tara Colardeau, Robyn Nickerson, and Laura Webber, along with their families, will be taking part in the walk as “Team Walkin’ Pets.” Laura will be walking alongside her foster dog, Oscar, who uses a Walkin’ Wheels wheelchair, and Houston, her Terrier mix.
This annual Walk, now in its fifth year, takes place at Great Brook Farm State Park in Carlisle, MA. It features a silent auction, 50/50 raffle, food, music, a scenic walk and much more. The fundraiser promises to be a fun-filled event for people of all ages and for families with children. All proceeds from the Walk go to Operation Delta Dog, which trains rescued shelter dogs to work as service dogs for disabled veterans suffering from PTSD and TBI. It is a great way to help both veterans and dogs – a win-win all around.
Team Walkin’ Pets will be participating in the Walk and giving out Walkin’ Rope Disc Toys to any dogs taking part in the Walk or who are enjoying the festivities. Donations in support of individual “teams” or participants are accepted online: http://walkandwagforveterans.com/3/sponsor_participant.htm.
