AMHERST, NH (May 24, 2018) – The Pet Healer Project by Sandy Johnson won a Silver Medal by the Independent Publisher Book Awards, known as the IPPY Awards. The annual IPPY Awards honors the best independently published books internationally from a pool of roughly 5,500 authors and publishers. Walkin’ Pets, an e-commerce company that produces products for disabled and aging pets, sponsored the publication of The Pet Healer Project and is pleased that the book has been honored with this prestigious award.
“This is such a groundbreaking book, bringing to light the power of a variety of progressive healing modalities for pets,’ says Mark Robinson, president of Walkin’ Pets. “I am proud that our company helped to bring this important work to publication and that it has received this recognition.”
The Pet Healer Project: Stories of the Healing Bond Between Humans and Animals, from Top Reads Publishing, was awarded the IPPY Silver Medal award in the Animal/Pet category. The book profiles 14 healers in the U.S. and abroad, exploring groundbreaking healing modalities such as subtle manipulations known as Feldenkrais to energy healing, which includes Reiki. These internationally recognized healers are motivated by a deep sense of compassion and love for animals and a belief that pets are family, life is precious, and that healing is always possible.
From the book: “Healer and teacher Carol Komitor reminds us that, ‘We are only one small part of the whole of life on this planet: animals are its heart and soul.'”
Author Sandy Johnson is the author of seven books, including the inspirational Miracle Dogs: Adventures on Wheels about disabled dogs using dog wheelchairs. The Pet Healer Project and Miracle Dogs are available through www.WalkinPets.com.
