April 30th is National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day | Let’s Help Him Out!
AMHERST, NH (April 30, 2020) – Celebrate National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day by making a handicapable pup’s dream come true and find him his forever home! Albert may be paralyzed, but he has never let that slow him down. Just over a year old, Albert is an energetic, happy pup…the only difference between him and other dogs? He rolls through life with the help of his Walkin’ Wheels Wheelchair. Albert is ready to roll; all he needs now is his forever family!
Meet Rescue Dog Albert
In December of 2018, a scared 2-month old puppy was found on the doorstep of a Veterinarian’s office. No note and no backstory. Paralyzed and scared, his rescuers made sure he got the medical care he needed.
Lucky Dawg Animal Rescue heard about Albert and knew they had to help! Arranging transport from Georgia, Albert headed north to Pennsylvania! Since arriving Albert has been examined by the rescue’s Vet and by a neurologist at Metropolitan Veterinary Associates. Through diagnostic tests they determined that as a baby, Albert had suffered at least one lumbar spinal fracture, most likely from trauma causing his paralysis from mid-back down. Albert hasn’t let that hold him back, with a giant smile, his wheelchair and a lot of love to share, all he needs now is a great family!
Lucky Dawg Rescue says, “We are sure that Albert’s perfect family is out there. Someone with the interest in helping a guy with special needs. Anyone with a wheelie dog will tell you they are still dogs. Goofy and playful and funny and just… dogs! Albert is about 12 months old now and 70lbs. He is playful, dog friendly, kid friendly and is learning some commands. He is a typical puppy with lots of energy and loves to play. Please help us get Albert adopted!”
Lucky Dawg Animal Rescue is located in Chester County, Pennsylvania. They are a no-kill, foster based, all volunteer animal rescue. LDAR is dedicated to rescuing homeless, abused or unwanted animals in their local community, as well as educating the public.
