What Makes the SureFit® Calculator the Best Choice?

SureFit® Guarantee: we guarantee the perfect size, or we’ll pay your return shipping costs if an exchange is needed. That way there’s no doubt your pet will get the perfect fit.

We highly recommend using our SureFit® Calculator as it ensures the perfect custom fit for your pet. It requires a couple measurements, but only so we can provide your pet with the very best experience.

We recognize this takes a few minutes of your time, but those minutes are worth the happiness your pet will experience once they try out their wheelchair for the first time. Our wheelchairs have already helped more than 81,000 other pets. Let’s make that 81,001!

Other companies simply have you select a wheelchair based on weight, but that often results in a poor fit. Why? A 30 lb bulldog has a very different body type from a 30 lb corgi, but those companies will provide both with the same wheelchair.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a casting kit cost?

The casting kit comes with everything you need to take an accurate fiberglass impression of your pet’s leg and costs $75. The cost of the casting kit will be reimbursed once the cast is returned, and you have completed the purchase of your Walkin’ Pets Brace.

The brace may be purchased on the Walkin’ Pets website or over the phone at 888-253-0777, the final cost of the brace is $795.

My casting did not go as planned; what do I do?

Your pet’s cast is needed in order to fabricate the most appropriately fitting brace with the fewest required adjustments. The fiberglass impression is critical in fabricating an appropriate dog brace or prosthetic.

Our certified Orthotist is available to speak with your local veterinarian about the specific techniques over the phone or via a scheduled video chat appointment.

Need to take another cast? Not a problem. We have additional casting supplies available for purchase here.

Is the casting process complicated?

It’s much easier than you may think to take a cast of your pet. Once you place your order, Walkin’ Pets will ship you a casting kit with everything you need to get started.

We recommend taking your pet’s cast with them in a standing position, bearing weight on the leg. The affected or injured leg should always be the leg that is cast. See the video below for step-by-step instructions on making a cast of your pet’s limb.

Once the cast is complete, ship the cast back to the Walkin’ Pets fabrication facility in Arizona, and we’ll ship the finished product within 7 – 10 business days.

I’ve completed my cast, what should I do next?

Once your cast has been completed and the order form filled, return the completed cast to the Walkin’ Pets Ortho Division in Arizona.

The brace must be purchased and paid in full prior to fabrication beginning. Each brace is available for purchase online at here or over the phone at 888-253-0777. The final purchase price of each brace is $795.

My pet won’t stand up, is it ok to cast my pet’s leg lying down?

Although, we prefer a dog to stand as they are cast but not every dog is able to or cooperates. You can cast your pet’s leg with them lying prone on their side, if you chose this method make sure your pet’s leg and foot are in a natural, standing position (as they would be if they were truly weight bearing).
