Feature/New Product: Walkin’ Wheels for Handicapped Pets

Walkin Whhels dog wheelchair for Handicapped Pets

Walkin’ Wheels – fits a Lhasa to a Lab!

Walkin’ Wheels™ for Handicapped Pets is the next generation of dog wheelchairs! This is the first fold-flat, one-size-fits-all adjustable pet wheelchair, operated more like a child’s stroller than a traditional dog wheelchair.

"In the past, when a dog became unable to walk it was a catastrophe, often marking the end of the animal's life. Now, with an easy-to-order, simple to adjust & use wheelchair, rear end problems are merely an inconvenience."  - Mark C. Robinson, Inventor of Walkin' Wheels.

adjusting a dog wheelchairWalkin’ Wheels will fit most medium-sized dogs (groin to floor: 6”-15”; shoulder to thigh: 9”-21”; width: 4½”-8½”). It can be adjusted in minutes—no tools needed—with simple snap-locks. Change size easily, anytime. And if your dog no longer needs its wheels, the adjustable feature lets you reuse Walkin’ Wheels on another dog, or resell it to another dog owner.

Walkin Wheels Tote BagWalkin’ Wheels’ fold-flat feature allows the wheelchair to be easily stored in the trunk of a car or the overhead compartment of an airplane. When at home, if the dog is not using its wheels, they can be folded and stashed out of the way. The fold-flat Walkin’ Wheels requires less packaging and can be shipped right off the shelf so it will get to you fast!Walkin’ Wheels offers convenience and flexibility to owners of elderly, injured, or handicapped dogs who have rear leg mobility problems.

Small dog in a walkin wheelsThe ready-made Walkin’ Wheels can also be stocked in veterinarians’ offices. If vets have a sample Walkin’ Wheels in their offices, more dog owners will become aware of this type of option. They can see how a wheelchair works firsthand—under the guidance of their own vet—and perhaps try it out. Rehab centers and specialty pet stores will also have the option of stocking Walkin’ Wheels. All of a sudden, pet wheelchairs can be demystified and can become a common sight, rather than a new-fangled piece of equipment people don’t understand.

Walkin’ Wheels gives dog owners an exciting new option to address canine mobility problems. Affordable at $399.95. Click Here for More information.

Meet Nancy, our Wheelchair Expert

Handicapped Pets - Dog Wheelchair Specialist Nancy BreggerNancy Bregger is the resident wheelchair expert at HandicappedPets.com. She’s been with the company almost two years. Her favorite part of the job is helping animals so that they don’t have to be euthanized. And she loves hearing back from customers who often call with amazing stories of how the wheelchair helped their dog. “I love to hear how their dog took off running and chasing other animals now—and just the enthusiasm in the owner’s voice—how it changed their dog’s life.” She looks forward to telling customers about Walkin’ Wheels because “they’ll be able to purchase one very quickly, without having to spend time figuring out measurements since it’s adjustable to any dog.” Nancy has her own canine companions—boxers Daisy, 4, and Buster, 2. She also has a handful of men in her life—a husband and two sons, ages 18 and 20. HandicappedPets.com feels lucky to have such a knowledgeable, reliable person as part of their team.

New Video on Harnesses on HandicappedPets.com

HandicappedPets.com has a new video on its site to help pet caretakers understand how a rear support dog harness works and how to measure your dog. There are two videos on this page; one that shows a dog using a rear harness and another that shows you how to measyre. Take a look at:

http://www.handicappedpets.com/mobilitybackharness.htm

What does a rear support harness do? A rear support harness allows you to provide the extra support an animal might need to help him (or her) walk. It’s like a piece of clothing that is worn by the dog, attached with clips and Velcro, with a handle. The design and construction of the harness provide the balance and support necessary for your dog to lead a happier, healthier, cleaner life. Use of the harness can also help minimize back strain that you may experience from lifting and carrying a heavy pet. When fitted properly, male and female dogs can urinate freely in the harness.
