What Makes the SureFit® Calculator the Best Choice?

SureFit® Guarantee: we guarantee the perfect size, or we’ll pay your return shipping costs if an exchange is needed. That way there’s no doubt your pet will get the perfect fit.

We highly recommend using our SureFit® Calculator as it ensures the perfect custom fit for your pet. It requires a couple measurements, but only so we can provide your pet with the very best experience.

We recognize this takes a few minutes of your time, but those minutes are worth the happiness your pet will experience once they try out their wheelchair for the first time. Our wheelchairs have already helped more than 81,000 other pets. Let’s make that 81,001!

Other companies simply have you select a wheelchair based on weight, but that often results in a poor fit. Why? A 30 lb bulldog has a very different body type from a 30 lb corgi, but those companies will provide both with the same wheelchair.

Stray Dachshund Keebler Gets a Second Chance

At HandicappedPets.com, we believe that a paralyzed dog deserves a second chance just as much as any other dog that finds itself in a homeless situation.  We have provided donated Walkin’ Wheels dog wheelchairs and discounts towards product purchases for animals shelters and rescue groups from around the globe. We consider it a privilege to be part of a community’s effort to help a dog when he is down. On Thursday, April 9, 2015 when our local shelter, the Humane Society for Greater Nashua, contacted us about a stray dog that they were caring for, we were privileged to be able to assist.

Keebler, an approximately 8-year old dachshund, had been found as a stray on the side of the road in late March and brought to the humane society in the hopes that his owner would be found. When no owners came forward to claim Keebler, Dr. Christine Schlupf began exploring options for his mobility needs and knew that HandicappedPets.com had products available for pets that cannot walk on their own. Mark C. Robinson, President of HandicappedPets.com and inventor of the Walkin’ Wheels dog wheelchair, delivered a Walkin’ Wheels Mini dog wheelchair and Walkin’ Drag Bag for Keebler’s use the following afternoon.

As Keebler took his first steps in his dog wheelchair with tail wagging glee and obvious doggie gratitude, we cheered alongside staff and volunteers from the humane society and members of the media who joined us from The Nashua TelegraphWMUR-TV and NH1 News. Watch Keebler’s first steps in the video above.

Keebler on the Mend

Update April 15, 2015:
Keebler’s gofundme page has received community incredible support and already raised a total of $3,415 at the time of this writing. The proceeds will be used to fund Keebler’s eye surgery, as well as X-Rays to complete his diagnosis. The Humane Society for Greater Nashua will place any additional funding in their Abby Fund to save more lives.

Update April 22, 2015: We received this update on Keebler from the Humane Society for Greater Nashua: He was taken to a dental surgeon in Massachusetts early this week. He had 16 teeth removed and two oronasal fistulas repaired during his visit. It was a long and an extensive surgery, and Keebler came through it just fine. His surgical wounds are on the mend in our care, and he is looking to be back on his feet and using his Walkin’ Wheels® dog wheelchair in a couple of weeks. Thanks to everyone for their concern and well wishes for this special pup and of course to the many people who donated through Keebler’s Go Fund Me page for his surgery. Keebler is being fed soft food by hand right now. We took this photo during his dinner, and he was very focused on eating. His spunk is returning.

Update May 26, 2015: Time for an update on Keebler. After recovering from dental surgery in mid-April to remove 16 teeth and fix two oronasal fistulas, Keebler had surgery again Monday to remove a cancerous tumor in his tear gland. This spunky little guy is healing well, and we hope he may be up for adoption within a week! He’s enjoying some fresh air with the help of his Walkin’ Wheels dog wheelchair, donated by HandicappedPets.com, and as you can see he does not let the “cone of shame” slow him down. We’ll keep you posted and thank you all for your concern and well wishes for Keebs (as we call him) and of course to the many people who donated money for his surgeries through his Go Fund Me page.

Update May 29, 2015: Our most exciting Keebler update yet is here from the Humane Society for Greater Nashua! Keebler is ready and available for adoption!  We’re so happy for him!  With everyone who has followed his story and donated to help, we’re sure there will be lots of interest in him. Adopters should complete a dog adoption application and submit it to our Animal Care Manager, Becky Longval for consideration. Keebler will require a lot of care and he needs just the right home and owners to manage it. We want the perfect forever home for this special pup! Visit the dogs available for adoption page at the humane society.

Update June 15, 2015: Keebler got adopted! We are thrilled to share the news from our friends at the Humane Society for Greater Nashua that our friend Keebler has found a new home! Here is his first photo with his new family. As you can see, he’ll have some dachshund siblings, Brewster and Chloe, along with 2 Labrador retrievers, Harvest and Rona. The family is very experienced with caring for older pets. Mom to them all is Kelly, who is holding Keebler and Chloe, and she also volunteers at the humane society. We could not be happier to know we’ll be receiving frequent updates on Keebler and visits too. This is a perfect match for Keebler! Wishing you all a wonderful life together!
