Walkin' Wheels Inventor Presents at UGA Veterinary Teaching Hospital

 Walkin Wheels Dog Wheelchair Presentation

Nashua, New Hampshire (March 10, 2011) - Mark C. Robinson, inventor of the Walkin' Wheels dog wheelchair and President of HandicappedPets.com, recently was invited to meet with staff and students at the University of Georgia Veterinary Teaching Hospital to discuss how dog wheelchairs can improve the quality of life for an injured or handicapped pet.

Mr. Robinson demonstrated how the revolutionary features of the Walkin' Wheels dog wheelchair make it ideally suited for both long-term and rehabilitative use.  Unlike older custom canine carts that require numerous measurements and are designed to fit a single dog, the Walkin' Wheels dog wheelchair requires only one approximate measurement of a dog's height; and it fully adjusts in height, length and width to accommodate different sizes of dogs and/or changing physical needs such as increases or decreases in size and level of mobility.

"Too often, we hear from our customers that they initially believed euthanasia was their only choice for a paralyzed pet.  Our goal is make both pet owners and veterinarians aware of the options available to assist in caring for a dog that is either permanently or temporarily unable to walk," Robinson explained.

In an effort to provide for continued learning about the many uses for a dog wheelchair, HandicappedPets.com also donated a  Walkin' Wheels professional reseller kit to the University of Georgia Veterinary Teaching Hospital.  The professional kit includes the one universal, adjustable Walkin' Wheels frame along with five different sizes of interchangeable wheels to fit any size dog weighing approximately 20 pounds or more.  Also included is a Walkin' Wheels Mini dog wheelchair that can be similarly adjusted in height, length and width to accommodate dachshunds and other small dogs weighing approximately 20 pounds or less.

Veterinary schools, canine rehabilitation facilities and others who are interested in scheduling a similar presentation or in learning more about the Walkin’ Wheels for Handicapped Pets are encouraged to contact Lisa-Marie Mulkern, Marketing and Communications at (603) 577-8854, ext. 113.

About HandicappedPets.com

HandicappedPets.com provides all of the products, services and support that pet caretakers need to help their disabled, injured or elderly pets enjoy healthy, happy, active lives. The company's signature product is the Walkin' Wheels dog wheelchair - the industry's only fully adjustable canine cart that can be ordered online and shipped the same day. The veterinarian approved Walkin' Wheels is comfortable and stylish, and it folds flat for convenient travel with your canine companion.  The Walkin' Wheels for Handicapped Pets is also the ideal dog wheelchair for canine rehabilitative use because it easily adjusts in length, width and height to accommodate any size dog and any level of mobility from complete rear end paralysis to partial rear leg use.    The Walkin' Wheels achieved top honors during the H.H. Backer 44th Annual Pet Industry Christmas Trade Show and Educational Conference in October 2010.  Additional information about the mobility miracle for man's best friend is available online at www.HandicappedPets.com or call (888) 811-PETS (7387)
