Help for the Hearing Impaired
Mobility issues are just one of the many topics up for discussion on the HandicappedPets.com forum. Pet owners will also find assistance with caring for pets who are blind and deaf or recovering from illness as well as support in dealing with the loss of a pet.
New pet owners frequently consult the help and advice forum when they first discover that a new companion may have special needs.
One of our newest members is "OneBlueEye" who consulted the forum when she suspected that her 10-week old American bulldog was having difficulty hearing. Forum members were happy to offer their assistance with tips for hearing tests as well as training advice such as how to incorporate hand signals into teaching a new puppy.

Trax the Dog Continues Search and Rescue Work in a Wheelchair
Thanks to our wonderful community of supporters, the Handicapped Pets Foundation is pleased to share the success of another fundraising campaign. A special thanks to our Facebook fans and members of all of our social networking sites for getting the word out about pets like Trax who need help.
Trax's family asked us to share the following message of gratitude to supporters of the Handicapped Pets Foundation:
Trax was the first K-9 in Iowa to serve on a Sheriff’s Reserve Unit. He has been available 24/7 upon request by any official agency. He has been deployed on over 300 searches and has assisted law enforcement within Iowa, Illinois, North Carolina, Virginia, Minnesota, Idaho and Ontario, Canada.
Trax's Walkin' Wheels cart has been renamed the "Traxmobile". The nameplate will also carry the phrase "Let's roll!" so that we are reminded daily to stand strong and display heroism when faced with tough and seemingly insurmountable odds.
Throughout his career, Trax has helped bring solace to grieving families and criminals to justice. He is a caring therapy dog and an accomplished search dog. Trax is also my devoted friend and companion. He has given so much to me and to so many within the community. I want to continue to provide the best care for Trax during this most difficult time.
Your donation helps make that possible. We truly appreciate your support for Trax!
