Paralyzed Dog Duke Finds a Family and Friends on Facebook
Duke was born on the streets and spent the first two years of his life as a stray who relied on the kindness of strangers to provide him with food and to ensure his survival. Then one day tragedy struck when Duke was maliciously shot in the back and left to die in the Des Moines River.
Thankfully, Duke was rescued and cared for by the Animal Rescue League of Iowa and by veterinarians at Iowa State University.
Since arriving in his new home, Duke has attracted the attention of more than 1,300 fans on Facebook with his frequent updates about life in his new home and the many visitors who have stopped by to wish him well.
