October is the American Humane Society's National "Adopt a Pet Month."

We're featuring Hook, a healthy, happy tripod that'll race and play with anyone on two, three, or four legs. Hook is a year old, loves children and other animals, and likes nothing more than a ride in a car . . .Good news! Hook found a home!

Hook was born with a very short right front leg. It was amputated to improve the dog's balance and ability. Now, he's not even considered a handicapped pet and he is completely healthy and active. Hook is gentle, affectionate, friendly, and smart.

Hook was adopted by a wonderful family who picked him up on October 18th and brought him HOME! He will have a ranch-style house with minimal stairs, a fenced yard so he can navigate himself and not be pulled by a leash, a dog brother, and a little kid - and two parents too!
