I'm a 58 yr. woman who has been disabled since an accident in1990; I have a care-giver to assist me with housework, meals, traveling, etc. (paid by the County).
I "live on" Social Security Disabiliy Benefits so I have a VERY restricted/limited budget to care for my special-needs Dalmatian dogs: Butler is almost 2 yrs. & having survived puppy distemper, he has "ringed teeth" & mild seizures (takes Phenobarbital to control seizures).
Sophie is also 2 yrs. & was born deaf, not well socialized nor trained in ANY way until I adopted her a few months ago, she also must take special meds for a condition called Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (self entertaining behaviors).
I have been working with a local trainer who is also an animal behaviorist for help in training, teaching sign, working on the "traumatic emotional issues" present in BOTH Dals due to having been in a Shelter, then to Dalmatian Rescue & finally to an adoptive home - ME. (Butler had been adopted & returned FOUR times, so he tends to follow me everywhere).
Both of my "Special Dalmatians" are friendly, current on all shots & license, love to travel & REALLY need items such as training aids (book or chart on sign language or a teacher to show me signs; vibrating collar for deaf Dal, clicker training for Butler, the Dal who can hear, collars with name & medication needs, etc.) ANY help is GREATLY appreciated. Thank you. Sincerely, Jeanne Roesberry 707-964-4308
