Bossie Lisa

My Lisa has been on your site for about a year now. Unfornately on 10/20/06 my daughter and I had to help Lisa to the Rainbow Bridge at the age of 14. . She had congestive heart failure, an enlarged heart and in the past week suffered a spinal cord injury that prompted our decision.
She was a loving companion to us for 11 years and will be greatly missed. She accepted any human and animal that came into her life like they were long lost family. She was my first dachshund and first rescue. RIP my darling girl.
Bossie Lisa is a 13 year old dachshund that I adopted from The San Diego Dachsund Club 10 years ago. She has epilepsy, an enlarged heart. and now cancer.
When I found Bossie Lisa I was working at a boarding kennel in Vista, CA. She had been rescued from abusive owners. It took me two days of patiently sitting in her kennel and letting her get used to me to get her close enough to pet. A week before she willing came running to see me. I then took her home and we have been together every since. She has raised another dachshund, 2 cats, and a beagle/jack russell mix puppy.
Shortly, after I took her home she had a seizure. I took her to the vet and learned she has canine epilepsy. In April of 2004 we learned Bossie Lisa had cancer. She had surgery to remove a huge tumor. I then learned she also has an enlarged heart. For that reason, the vet and I decided that chemo treatment would do more harm than good. Recently, I discovered more tumors. Upon testing them they are also cancer. She will have no more surgery or tereatments. She will live out her days happy and in peace until her time comes.
She has brought so much joy to our little family that she deserves to be spoiled rotten and loved beyond measure. We live in Michigan now and she still bosses everyone around.
