Raw Foods
- Testimonials and Questions
Can I feed it to my cat?
We certainly get a lot of enquiries
for a feline recipe! Unfortunately we do not currently have a diet specifically
for cats although we hope to develop one in the future.
That said, some of our customers
do use our foods as a component of their home made diets for cats, by adding
in at least equal parts of meat and / or fish to the hydrated food, to provide
sufficient Taurine - an essential amino acid for cats! Embark, our new formula
for puppies, has been analyzed for Taurine content and has a sufficient amount
for cats. Although the food will not be marketed directly for felines it may
be an even more suitable base food, with which to mix extra meat and fish.
My name is Jerry and I live in Reno
NV. Boomer, my huge male Golden Retriever, just wanted to thank you for recommending
the Force dehydrated dog food. He LOVES it and by adding just a little bit
of raw chicken breast every few days, his weight has come down to a better
level (probably down to around 100 from 115, about where he should be) and
his energy levels seem to be up [if that's possible! ;-)]. At almost 8 years
of age he acts like a 4 yr old! He has a pressure sore on one elbow that actually
seems to be healing some, Boomer doesn't lick it as much anymore if at all.
I know some people can't understand why I would spend that kind of money on
dog food but I always ask them "don't you try to give all your kids the
very best possible?" That is usually all it takes and I wouldn't be surprised
if this kind of diet adds 3 or 4 years of good life for him. Force has the
best aroma of ANY dog food I've ever smelled and better than some human food!
LOL It reminds me of some of those dehydrated soup packs you can buy. Thanks
again for putting Honest Kitchen on your web site, Land Of Pure Gold, otherwise
I may have never found it.

Hello!
I have 2 dogs- a 4 year old greyhound and a 7 month old Golden retriever.
I have been feeding Force to my golden for about a month now. He was having
severe digestive issues, and it seems he must have been intolerant of grains
(before he was eating various brands of kibble, all extremely high quality,
such as Solid Gold..) I cannot rave about Force enough! What an absolutely
wonderful food! When I first got it, the appearance and smell amazed me, it
seemed like something I would like to eat for dinner! The biggest plus though,
was the way it firmed up my golden's stools. He has no gas, and completely
hard stools now!
I have been ordering through Feed My Pet.com, and will be placing another
order this week, I am sooo pleased with this food!
Thank you very much,
Abby
I just wanted to write to thank you for developing such wonderful products.
My husband and I adopted our dog
Bella from a local shelter about 6 months ago. She had a tough first year
on the streets and we wanted to start her new life with the best of everything.
Initially we enrolled her in Raise With Praise, a local reward based training
program. Paul Owens, the creator of Raise With Praise, explained how important
good quality human grade food is for Bella. So, I sat down at my computer
and came across The Honest Kitchen on the internet. First I ordered samples
of Verve and Force. Bella loved it so much that the next day I ordered the
big buckets of each.
It’s been a few months that
Bella has been eating Verve and Force and we really see a difference. Her
coat is so shiny and her eyes are so bright that people stop me on the street
to comment. Quickly I tell them about The Honest Kitchen and what a difference
it has made. Now with the addition of Perfect Form to Bella’s diet,
she is in the best shape she can be. Our vet has even noticed the change.
I’ve attached a picture of
Bella so you can add her to your list of satisfied customers. Thank you again!

My dogs absolutely LOVE your dog food. They devour it in no time flat. Our
pickiest eater, Trevor, who used to turn his nose up at everything, is the
first one to let us know when it's feeding time, and the first one to finish
his food.
I am so glad that I found your website! My husband and I own a service business,
and he's always signing the praises of your food to our customers. I can't
tell you how many times he has given out your website address.
Keep making the great food that you do, and we'll keep buying it!
Best Regards,
LaShaun

Liz Writes,
"I discovered The Honest Kitchen dog foods while researching foods for
my then eight year old Australian Sehpherd, Dax. Dax was suffering from congenital
liver disease and was not doing well. As a dog writer and author of several
books on pet foods, including "The Consumer's Guide to Dog Foods"
I knew a little something about nutrition, and even fixed Dax foods from home.
However, no matter what I tried, I seemed to be missing something. I knew
food could not cure her liver disease, but I also knew that nutrition was
a big part of managing it. I wanted her to have as good a quality of life
as I could give her for as long as I could.
When I read the information I found about The Honest Kitchen's dog foods,
I was intrigued. I liked the way the foods were prepared; I liked the quality
of the ingredients; and the ingredients themselves. Verve was the food available
then and I promptly ordered some. I fed both Dax and my healthy three year
old Aussie, Riker, the foods and was impressed with their eagerness to eat
the food. When Force became available, I switched both dogs to that as I liked
the ingredients better.
Dax is now holding her own. Her coat looks great, her eyes are bright, she's
playing with Riker, and is going for walks. She acts like she feels good and
that is the quality of life I was looking for.
I know the liver disease will eventually win this battle. But, with good nutrition,
I hope to stave off that eventuality for as long as possible".
