Leg Rings
The back of the dog is held in place by our leg rings, or our rear harness. We have found that most dogs adapt quickly to the leg rings. For animals with more complicated comfort needs, our rear support harness can be a convenient and stable harnessing system. The leg rings are included with the cart. The harness is optional.

Our unique harness system offers flexibility and comfort.
The Walkin' Wheels Rear Harness is used to support your dogs hind quarters. This harness is compatible with the Walkin' Wheels Wheelchair, and can be used instead of the Leg Rings. This harness CANNOT be trimmed and should not be left on the dog at all times.

The Front Harness
The front harness goes around the neck of the dog, with another strap (red) that clips underneath the chest.
The shoulder pad (A) is made of neoprene and keeps the straps and buckles from causing discomfort for the dog. The red strap (B) goes behind the front leg, underneath the chest and holds the front harness securely in place. Neoprene comfort sleeves wrap around the straps for the dogs comfort. The ONLY difference between the large and small front harness is the neoprene comfort sleeves. The comfort sleeves can be cut in half for smaller dogs. Girth of chest up to 44", or XL up to 64"

Frame:
The Frame itself is powder-coated aluminum. It will not bend, break, or rust. The molded plastic knuckles attach the frame and the legs in such a way they cannot possibly slip. 360 degrees of 'teeth' hold the knuckle in place at every point.
On the side of the knuckle, a spring-loaded turning cap allows you to loosen the knuckle and swivel the legs up or down.
About three turns of the knob should be enough. Do not turn the dial so that it comes all the way off -- although if you do, it is easy to screw back on.
|
 |
Width Connectors:
The back connector connects the left and right side of the frame together. If the width of your dog is 5 - 9 1/2 inches, you will use the smaller back connector. 9 - 13.5 inches will need the longer connector. Don't worry though, the "Cart Wizard" will choose the correct size for you when you get to our shopping cart to buy a walkin' wheels. |
 |
Length Extenders:
These are called the Length Extenders. The length extender connects the front harness in place with the cart. The length extenders are adjustable. However there are two different sizes. If your animal's length is 18-25 inches you will need the larger extender, If the animal is 9-19 inches you will need the smaller extender. |
 |
Struts:
These are the struts. They are what the wheels are attached to which then snap into the cart. The struts are adjustable within a range of about three inches. The struts come in 4 different sizes from 6 to 15 inches. The correct strut will be chosen for you based on the "Groin to Ground" measurement. |

Walkin Wheels Handles:
Our Walkin’ Wheels rear harness becomes a handy lifting sling when you attach these adjustable straps. Great for helping dogs around when they are not in the cart. Easy on your back too! Safe and easy to use. They clip onto the rings on the rear harness or the leg rings. Straps can also be clipped onto the stirrup holders on the back of the cart to help lift the wheelchair. |
 |
Stirrups:
These are used to keep your animal's back legs from dragging on the ground or if the legs are paralyzed or weak. The length of the stirrups can be easily adjusted by moving the clip down on the rope and re-tying the knot.
