Braveheart didn't give up - A husky/wolf mix, he was hit by a car 14 months ago. We tried, unsuccessfully, to save his right rear leg, but after 3 surgeries and much rehabilitation, amputation was the best course. But he didn't give up, and neither did I.

Jay - Amputee in Scotland - Hi, my name is Rosie and Jay is a 4yr old Border Collie, he had to have his right front leg amputated 3 weeks ago due to serious injury he suffered whilst leaping for his ball. I wasn,t sure if I was doing the right thing by putting him through the surgery, but I'm so glad I did

Bernie's Cart - The little guy was scooting around on the ground until he got into a Canine Chair. Now he runs around with all the other dogs.

Bailey's Cart - Fibrocartilaginous Emboli. The chair is great it has made life so much easier.

Oliver - A Pug Rescue - Oliver, a darling little black Pug boy, was attacked by a pit bull and suffered from a broken neck. He's an amazing boy with a will to live and recover, but currently he is a quadriplegic Pug.

Allie (osteosarcoma) - Allie is our 9-year-old female Golden Retriever who was diagnosed with osteosarcoma of the left front leg just above the paw.   We had noticed in late November 2003 that she was beginning to limp, it got progressively worse

Angel (osteosarcoma) - By the time you take your animal to the vet to see why they are starting
to limp the vets say that it has probably already spread to the lungs but it is just not visible on any x-rays yet. We went ahead and did the amputation & the chemo and were praying that maybe just maybe she would be one of the lucky 10 % who could be cured.

buddy (cancer amputee) - I am Buddy, Hear me Run... I am a six year old Australian Shepherd. My left front leg had to be amputated due to cancer in October 2003.

Sally (Cushing's Disease) - The past couple of years had brought many ills, including an intense worsening of her arthritis and an onset of Cushing's Disease. Sally was a very strong being, and she shouldered it all well. On Sunday, she let us know it was time. We held her in our arms at the vet's, and she looked deeply into our eyes as they administered the medication. She died peacefully.

Sebastian, a Duck with Wheels - Handicapped pets are not limited to just dogs and cats. This is Sebastian, my handicapped duck who just celebrated her 9th birthday with family and friends.

Sunny, a healthy tripod - he had been gone for over a week in early winter, showing up one morning with his front left leg, hanging by only a thread at the wrist.  He had been caught in a trap,

Penny - Our sweet girl lived more than half of her life with paralysis in her rear legs. But she never lost her spunk or her enthusiasm for the good things of life

John - A Big kids' homemade cart - Diagrams, instructions, and more.

Drifter - A Loving Tribute

Wiggy the cat (cerebellar hypoplasia)

Mercedes' Story - A dog who left before her time and inspired this website

Cody's Miracle (disk) - At the end of October 2002 I found Cody on my bed crying in great pain. It turned out he hurt his neck and shoulder and over the next three months 'though getting Veterinary care became weaker & weaker.

How I care for Murphy (spinal) - Detailed description: Caring for a parapelegic pet.

Babe - Letting Go - Toward the end the seizures became really bad, the vet said there was nothing she could do because Babe wasn't responding to medication.  With counseling and other options, we thought it best to have her go to Rainbow Bridge before she attacked a child, or seriously injure another dog.

Sheba - Quad Dog - Deborah Kazsimer has developed a new video, based on her personal experience, designed to help owners deal with the care and treatment of handicapped pets. The video includes a wide range of treatments including special nutrition diets, acupuncture, magnetic therapy, and infrared light.

In Memory of Bubba & CJ - Our baby CJ left us last night. He fought a valiant fight, but the time had come to join the rest of his family who had gone over the Rainbow Bridge before him. He missed his brother Bubba. They were best of friends from the beginning and it never changed.

Pixie's homemade ramp - The materials for my ramp cost about $6.75

Rusty's Harness worked - I ordered a belly harness from you back in March 2004 for my Rusty who was hit by a car. His back was fractured and his left hip dislocated. The harness was a life saver.

Elvis needs a home - I think they called me that because of the way my legs wobble. Kind of a weird sense of humor because I'm not dancing.

Baby Gabriel - Deaf & Blind - Baby Gabriel is gettin on the rescue railroad soon, I hope.  He was destined to be culled because he's lethal (deaf/blind) and they don't bother to go to the vet's for that out in the country.  He's my baby Miracle and tho I've never met him, I love him to death.

Mo - put back together - Mo had 16 dislocated bones in his front leg and his chances of ever walking again were slim. The orthopedic vet was up to the challenge and with the help of a human vet, Mo was put back together again

Niche the turtle - Niche was rescued from a lake where she could never survive. This lake was polluted and was fed partially by saltwater.

Oscar loves his wheels - We had a fusion surgery done by the only Animal Hospital in the area, and they told us he had a 90% chance of being totally normal again.

PJ got something in his eye - The vets told me that the eye was not saveable, so I had it removed. Then the vet told me that, at the age of 18 months he had developed Cataracts and Glaucoma; a result, most likely, of his mother being overbread.

Sam Gallaghers Wheel Chair - Just wanted to let you know that Sam's wheel chair arrived today and within the time it took us to put it together, he was off and running!

St. Jude the Sissy - With a smashed pelvis, tied up organs & nerves, shot arm, and starvation, we launched on a journey which moves me to tears to this day. St. Jude is happy, healthy, goofy, and a daily joy to experience.

Bubba-In memory of - He was my Champion, my Buddy, my baby and the last born of 8 beautiful little Corgis.

Butler-mild seizures Sophie is 2 yrs. & was born deaf, not well socialized nor trained in ANY way until I adopted her a few months ago, she also must take special meds for a condition called Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (self entertaining behaviors).

Cori loves her cart - I just wanted to say thanks again for your website.  Thanks to you "Cori" got new wheels for Christmas from her "Granny Pooh".  Cori is adjusting well to her cart.

Gideon - Horse with a prosthesis - Gideon has been living with a prosthesis for many years now and has not only sired a beautiful filly, he enjoys a wonderful quality of life.

Lefty with a phantom limb - The story behind his 3-leggedness is a little unclear.  Allegedly his leg was broken in his first home and the owners never took care of it properly.  It healed stiff, and he was mostly unable to use it.  The shelter took him to an orthopedic surgeon who determined that it was best to amputate.  He lost his back left leg when he was about 3 months old.

http://www.alittleTLC.com - Meet Bendy, the kitten in braces, and the other special needs cats he lives with. Injuries, birth defects, brain damage, heart disease, FIV, Feline Leukemia, and aggression are just some of the conditions that Bendy and his mom have helped cats with!
