Advances in Veterinary Treatment in Israel
The Israeli Physiotherapy Center
for small animals was opened in September of 2002. The center situated in
Kibbutz Ein-Dor in the north of Israel, is run by Dr. Lisi Sharon DVM and
staff. Dr Sharon has for a number of years been using a wide arsenal of techniques
including; hydrotherapy, ultra-sound, electric stimulation and other forms
of conventional physiotherapy to rehabilitate dogs and cats referred to them
from across the country.
The new center reflects the growing
worldwide awareness that physiotherapy with its well proven efficacy in humans
has equally wide applicability in veterinary work.
The new center with its custom made facilitates has being providing effective
treatment for dogs and cats with severe muscular, skeletal and neurological
conditions, which up until recently left the owners and veterinary staff having
only one option of having the pet put down. The early use of physical therapy
after trauma and or surgery is essential for successful rehabilitation and
all to frequently this is neglected.
The center sees its function
not only in treatment but in the promotion of Veterinary Physiotherapy in
the veterinary community which will encourage a greater awareness and more
widespread use of these techniques.
